American Airlines ConciergeKeySM / "CK" Program (by invitation only)
(Includes Executive Platinum status and Admirals Club membership)

NOTE: For questions such as "How can I get Concierge Key?" or "This is my spend: will I get CK?" Please refer to the How do I make / making AA Concierge Key / ConciergeKey / CK?thread

"The ConciergeKey Program is an exclusive program that American Airlines has for our very top customers. This is by invitation only and a very exclusive club." (Billy Sanez for AA)

[I]ConciergeKey Services are provided to a select group of VIPs to facilitate travel on AA. The program is offered on an invitation basis only and is targeted at customers who control travel policy for large organizations. Customers who generate a high amount of revenue for AA may also be invited into this program (possibly those who spend upwards of US$60k a year on travel with AA).

Services provided include airport escorts and pre-boarding (seems variable, more likely during OSO?); assistance with flight changes, seat changes, and upgrade requests via their own dedicated telephone line. In addition, there is the ability to communicate directly with ConciergeKey associates via a dedicated email address. ConciergeKeySM representatives will also monitor day of travel of ConciergeKey members and will proactively reroute or rebook travel when necessary. ConciergeKey status allows check-in at First Class counters, as well as access to elite lines through security at certain airports. Miles and copay upgrades with copay waived.

ConciergeKey members receive courtesy AAdvantage Executive Platinum status, membership to the Admirals Club, international miles upgrades with copayment waived, as well as two additional System-Wide Upgrades (SWU's) as part of CK membership.

CK members have access to Flagship Check-in on any flight, and CK will have Flagship Lounge access when flying.

As of 1 Jan 2017, Concierge Key members have upgrade requests prioritized over all other tiers: CK members have an upgrade window of (up to) 120 hours (Executive Platinum member's will retain the 100 hour upgrade window). CK members will board ahead of other passengers.

Regarding Concierge Key tier benefits coming in 2017, please see: New Concierge Key Benefits for 2017: New CK Elite Status Tier

Please: do respect members' privacy by refraining from asking for overly personal information and details relating to ConciergeKey membership or nomination. If your question receives no response, consider the member chooses not to reply, as is his/her right.

Boarding Area's AAdvantageGeek's blog shows the card and documents here.

Extra SWUs beyond 200K EQM?

Hi All,

I know some folks are granted additional SWUs for every 50K EQM above 200 EQM. Is this something one has to request, or is it proactively offered?

I'm sitting at 320K EQM, but haven't gotten any SWUs beyond the 8 total at the 200K threshold.

Thanks!

So in past years as a CK I could always same day confirmed flight change to another flight 24 hours out as long as there were seats left in the cabin.

Has AA tightened this to only allow it for same fare class?

Example 1: Booked sfo - JFK in paid J and used SWU to upgrade to First (A). Tried to confirm for flight 2 hours later which was F1 and they wouldn't let me without refare due to A not being available.

Example 2: Booked JFK - CLT in paid business D fare. Want to take one 6 hours later. Business class sold out but coach has seats. They can't same day confirm out of the cabin so it's not an option. CK phone agent said either hope D opens and confirm for free or pay a refare and $200 change fee (net incremental $130) to confirm it in coach.

I feel like in days past either one of these would be accommodated without a refare. "If you're in the cabin we'll move you same day of you need it."
Am I missing something?

Yes, just ask! I've earned a total of 14 SWU's this year and I'm only EXP so you should definitely have a good chance.

Yeah. That’s how it is suppose to work! Even CKs have to play by the rules (sometimes). Contact customer relations or the CK email address and let them know that you don’t like to have to Play by the rules.

Ha. They won't be very sympathetic to that.

I didn't realize in premium cabins same day confirm required same fare class. That it was a rule.

What is the rule for economy? Same fare class? Or just cabin availability? For example if a flight is Y1 and a CK is on a T fare can they confirm into that Y1?

I asked this question yesterday when speaking with a CK agent and was told "no". I'm at 265K EQM and $55K EQD for the year, Helix 4. YMMV.

The reports of those getting extra SWUs for EQM above 200K are from EXP right now.

It's what JonNYC calls rewarding the over-achieving EXPs, while not just granting them CK.

Im not a CK (although I hope to be) but thought I could provide another data point on your subject.

Im sitting at 318K EQM (64K EQD and 117 EQS) and have only received 8 SWUs so far. With planned travel through the end of the year I should be right at 400k EQMs.... maybe they will give me all the extra SWUs at the end of the year. LOL.

That's wild.

How much of your EQD is on AA metal?

All but $1,768 of it is on AA metal.

The SWUs aren't very beneficial to me anyway. I've found that I prefer the food offerings in J over F on my usual DFW-HKG flight. I do like the F seat better though. LOL

You can always request the J meal in F, the FAs usually accommodate.
