Can we use skymiles for hotels only?

Hi - has anyone been able to use skymiles for hotels without flying on Delta?

If you have access to the SkyMiles Marketplace (requires that you either be a Medallion or hold a Delta Amex card)
https://marketplace.delta.com/

Then yes, you can... although it usually places an awful value on your miles.

It's not a flat rate per night - the range of prices can be quite broad.

Generally works out to about 2 miles per 1 dollar in value (or worse). If one has a DL Amex, you are usually better off using them towards a flight where you can get 1 mile/dollar in value with Pay with miles.

Thank you mean 1 mile/cent. 1mile/dollar would be unheard of.

I am really hoping to DL miles for hotel awards. Just realize Delta miles are not hotel friendly. Learning from the pros.

Oops, yes. 1 mile/cent. Obviously big difference there.
