Activate Chase card online.

Other issuers offer online activation of new or replacement cards, but I have not found a link to do this with Chase. Instead I sent a Secure Message stating:

This message verifies that I have received the card. Please confirm that the card has been activated and is ready to use.
...and the reply was...

I processed your request to activate your card. Your card is now available for use.

Easier than calling and having a rep. try to sell you other products. I'm actually surprised this worked for you. Nice.

Indeed, but I was in a particularly foul mood last evening, and I detest telephones in the best of times. I believe this will only work if you already have a Chase.com account and the new card has already appeared online.

Would have been more impressed if you also asked them to verify whatever bonus you signed up for.

If only secure messaging worked as well for things like reconsideration and retention. As it is now annoying phone calls are a necessary evil

So let it be written, so let it be done...

I would like to inform you that the cutoff date to meet $3,000 spend requirement for 40,000 bonus points is 12/21/2012

Thanks for saving me the trouble of a call to Chase. I can confirm this worked for me as well, and the card had already been linked to my online account.
